Important information for practicing JP’s

A practicing JP must keep up-to-date and informed. Although our range of duties hasn’t changed much in the past decade (or more), there have been several changes to the way we perform our witnessing role. If you don’t keep up to date with these changes, you just cannot perform your duties with the professionalism expected of you.

We have developed new guidance material for several important ares:

  • JP Guidance Note on ‘Witnessing documents under the Queensland Land Titles Act 1994’
  • JP  Brief on ‘New specific requirements for certifying documents for AHPRA (Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority)’
  • JP Brief on ‘100 Points of Identification’
  • JP Brief on ‘Quoting an address on a Statutory Declaration and other documents’ – updated to reflect changes to the Commonwealth Statutory Declarations Regulations.

Members can download these documents from our Members’ Area on this website. The JP Guidance Note is in the Professional Development section. The JP Briefs are in the Professionalism and Conduct section.

Non-members who wish to access this information should contact the Secretary, Geoff Wood, at secretary@actjpa.org.au.
